We are delighted that you are planning to visit ImageSouth. We've created this section to help you prepare for your exam.

APPOINTMENT TIMES:
We make every effort to ensure that all appointments run on time and each patient is seen in a timely manner. If you are delayed or cannot keep your appointment, please contact the appropriate ImageSouth facility as quickly as possible. While we cannot guarantee your appointment slot if you are more than 15 minutes late, we will make every effort to work you back into the schedule as quickly as possible.

REFERRAL:
If you received any appointment slips or patient preparation instructions, please bring them with you to your appointment.

PREGNANCY:
Notify your physician and ImageSouth staff if there is any chance that you be may be pregnant.

MEDICATIONS:
Bring a list of your current medications and information about any allergies you may have. Information on medications and allergies is not needed for simple x-rays like a chest x-ray or an ankle film, but sometimes patients do not realize they are scheduled for more complicated studies like a CT or MRI. If in doubt, bring the information.

PREPS:
Each type of imaging exam and diagnostic or therapeutic procedure has its own specific guidelines. Typical examinations requiring special patient preparation include:

MRI: No special preparation required.

CT ABDOMEN OR PELVIS:

• Nothing to eat or drink 4 hours prior to your exan
• Take all prescribed medications

CT WITH IV CONTRAST:

• Nothing to eat or drink 4 hours prior to your exam

MYELOGRAM:

• Drink plenty clear liquids
• No Solids 4 hours prior to exam
• No Aspirin products 3-4 days prior to exam
• No Anti-Depressants 24 hours prior to exam
• No Blood Thinner 4-5 days prior to exam
• If taking blood thinner must provide PT/PTT results to ImageSouth prior to myelogram
• Bring a list of medications to your appointment
• Must have driver

PET SCAN

• Please follow link to obtain prep instructions and diet for PET SCAN.

ULTRASOUND (ABDOMEN, GALLBLADDER OR AORTA)

• Nothing to eat or drink after midnight

PELVIC ULTRASOUND

• Drink 32 oz of water to be finished 1 hour before your exam time
